Netflix isn’t done with ‘Stranger Things’ just yet, but not in the way fans first expected. Earlier this month, social media was buzzing with the “Conformity Gate” theory. Fans were convinced a secret bonus episode would drop on January 7 to fully close out the fifth and final season. The rumor spread fast and felt believable. That is, until Netflix stepped in. The streamer quickly shut down the speculation with a blunt message. In all caps, Netflix updated its Instagram bio to read, “ALL EPISODES OF STRANGER THINGS ARE NOW PLAYING.” The message was clear: no hidden finale was coming.

Still, Hawkins is making a return. This week, ‘Stranger Things’ arrives on Netflix in a different form. A feature-length documentary titled ‘One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5’ is set to premiere. The film pulls back the curtain on the final season and the emotional goodbye behind it. Directed by Martina Radwan, the documentary runs just over two hours. It follows the cast, creators, and crew as they bring the final chapter to life. Cameras capture the long shoots, the intense prep, and the bittersweet moments on set. It’s less about plot twists and more about closure.

Netflix describes the film as a reflection on a decade-long journey. The documentary tracks how a small sci-fi series reshaped pop culture. It also shows how deeply the show changed the people who made it. As per Forbes, ‘One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5’ begins streaming on January 12, dropping at 3 a.m. ET, or midnight PT. Netflix released the trailer for the documentary last week, teasing emotional farewells and behind-the-scenes footage fans have never seen. The documentary follows the recent conclusion of Season 5.

Netflix split the final season into three parts late last year. The first four episodes arrived on November 26, then three more landed on Christmas Day. The final episode, which closed the series for good, premiered on December 31. And the response was massive. Season 5 has already claimed a spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Most Popular Shows of All Time list. According to Variety, it currently sits at No. 9. The season has pulled in 105.7 million views so far. That equals more than 1.09 billion hours watched worldwide. Created by Matt and Ross Duffer, the final season reunited much of the original cast.

Winona Ryder and David Harbour returned alongside Millie Bobby Brown. The season also starred Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Jamie Campbell Bower. While the story of ‘Stranger Things’ is officially over, Netflix is offering one last look behind the scenes. For fans, it’s a final chance to say goodbye.
