Yes, the Apple TV+ series is based on the novel of the same name by American novelist Walter Mosley that was published in 2010.
The novel will see a 90-year-old Grey who is not remembered by family, friends or himself be left alone after his grandnephew, who is his only connection to the outside world, gets killed in a drive-by shooting. Only a teenager named Robyn agrees to care for him but only if he becomes more lively. An experimental drug that guarantees Ptolemy won't live to see age ninety-two brings back his memory. With his mind clear, what Ptolemy finds in his own past, in his own apartment, and in the circumstances surrounding his grandnephew's death is shocking enough to spur him into action and investigate.

Who is Walter Mosley?
Walter Ellis Mosley is an American novelist, most widely recognized for his crime fiction. Mosley is the author of many hit books that include 'Devil in a Blue Dress', 'Fortunate Son', 'Futureland: Nine Stories of an Imminent World', 'Killing Johnny Fry: A Sexistential Novel' and more. Some of his books have even been adapted onto the screen with the upcoming Apple TV+ series being one of them.
