As 'Avatar: Fire & Ash' begins its box office run exclusively at theaters, fans from all over the globe are thronging the aisles to watch their favourite James Cameron movie franchise. For Marvel enthusiasts, this was supposed to be cause for great joy as it was previously believed that the screenings of 'Avatar: Fire & Ash' would feature the rollout of the 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer. However, as reported by IGN, many were disappointed after the trailer wasn't played in the theaters they visited, while some were lucky to get a glimpse of the much-awaited trailer.

'Avengers: Doomsday', the upcoming film heralding the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and is expected to be another box office juggernaut. Exactly a year before the film played out in theatres, Disney+ and Marvel had settled upon a promotional campaign to roll out four different trailers that would open the screenings of 'Avatar: Fire & Ash'. Not only was this supposed to provide momentum through the run-up to the MCU film's release, it was also expected to have ardent Marvel fans return to the screenings of the 'Avatar' movie time and again to catch a glimpse of the trailers. Before this, footage believed to be from the trailer was leaked online earlier this week.

However, many of the screenings, especially those that took place at midnight yesterday across European theatres, didn't feature the trailers in question. A user by the name of janisjulijs took to Reddit to air their disappointment and wrote, "Just went to see the new Avatar film, which was not bad, by the way, and I was surprised to see no Doomsday trailer before the movie. I was there before trailers started, so I certainly did not miss it." Another user commented, "At mine, they skipped all the trailers and directly started the movie lol. It was actually the main reason I bought tickets :(."

Audience members in Brazil weren't too lucky either. An X user wrote about his own ordeal, "As I suspected, in my session at Cinemark, 10 minutes of advertisements and not a single trailer was shown! Neither for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY nor for any movie." On the other hand, USA Today ran a report that stated that one trailer definitely made it to the screen. In it, Steve Rogers was seen getting off a motorcycle at his home in the past, where he settled down with Peggy Carter, following the events of 'Avengers: Endgame'. He then proceeded to gather his Captain America suit. The trailer reportedly ended with a frame of him holding a baby.

'Avengers: Doomsday' stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Kelsey Grammer, and Ian McKellen.
