Is Sisqó under Lizard mask? 'The Masked Singer' Season 11 clues drop major spoilers on ‘Dragon’ singer beneath the costume
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The clues for 'Masked Singer' Season 11 Lizard mask have strongly hinted that the singer beneath the mask is Sisqó, also known as Mark Althavan Andrews.
One major clue that solidified this speculation came to the fore when Lizard shared, "As a little lizard, I loved cartoons so much that I spent all my days drawing them. I got so good I was offered a dream job at a huge animation studio — yeah, the mouse was chasing this lizard."
This reference to a "huge animation studio" is believed to be Disney, and Sisqo indeed published a children's holiday book titled "Sisqo's Perfect Christmas" in 2018. This clue, along with others, convinced fans that Sisqó was behind the Lizard mask on The Masked Singer.
Nonetheless, Lizard has already impressed the panelists with his energetic performances. The panelists speculated that Lizard could be a member of New Edition, Ray J, or Sisqó, with Sisqo being the strongest contender based on the clues.
Despite facing tough competition from Spaghetti & Meatballs and Sir Lion in two Smackdowns, Lizard advanced to the next round.
'The Masked Singer' Season 11: Clues for Lizard
Lizard's costume features racing attire, including a long-sleeved shirt with "LIZARD" printed in the middle, striped pants, and a backward baseball cap.
Before Lizard took the stage, two Men in Black rode out in mini cars as a fun intro. Lizard's performance started with him dancing energetically to "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me." Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg noted his showmanship, Robin Thickie praised his energy, and Rita Ora remarked on his small size.
For 'The Masked Singer' Season 11's Billy Joel Night, Lizard chose to sing "Uptown Girl". In his clue package, Lizard was shown in a car garage, hinting at his background or interests.
"Some people might label me a ladies' man, the bad boy type in Billy Joel songs. But that's not the real me. And despite some of my better known hits, I tend to see people for who they are on the inside," he said on the stage.
"But when I met the love of my life, she was the definition of an uptown girl, and this downtown daredevil was smitten," he continued.
Sisqó took a brief hiatus from music in 2015
In 2015, Sisqó, known for hits like "Thong Song," opened up about his career hiatus. He revealed that he faced challenges in the mainstream music industry after opposing certain industry politics.
As a result, he was blacklisted by major music executives. However, this setback led him to focus on expanding his independent label, Dragon Music Group.
Collaborating with Massenburg Media, owned by former Motown Records president Kedar Massenburg, allowed him to regain control over his music career. Now, Sisqó enjoys the freedom of being his own boss and pursuing his artistic vision without industry constraints.
The new episodes of 'The Masked Singer' Season 11 drop on Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on FOX.
