Is ‘Palm Royale’ canceled? Fan-favorite star's cryptic Season 3 update has us concerned: ‘It seems like...’
The second season finale of ‘Palm Royale,’ now streaming on Apple TV, and fans are already looking ahead. With the show’s popularity soaring, one big question is now dominating conversations: Is the glamorous, satirical drama coming back for a third season, or has the story reached its natural conclusion? The Kristen Wiig-led dramedy has built a loyal audience since its debut, bringing humor with high-society intrigue in 1960s Palm Beach. Given Apple TV’s reputation for making relatively quick decisions on renewals, it’s understandable why viewers are eager for answers. In the past, the platform has moved swiftly on shows it believes in.

‘Down Cemetery Road,’ for example, secured a second season shortly after its first wrapped, per Matt and Jass TV. Moreover, ‘Pluribus’ was granted a two-season commitment from the outset. Apple TV has often shown a willingness to reassure fans that their favorite series aren’t disappearing overnight. For now, though, ‘Palm Royale’ remains in limbo. As of this writing, Apple TV has not announced whether the show will return for Season 3 or conclude with its current run. That uncertainty comes despite the series performing well on the platform.
The show has spent much of the past several weeks inside Apple TV’s Top Ten rankings, often landing near the top of the list. While that level of visibility is encouraging, it does not automatically guarantee renewal. There have been other Apple TV series, such as ‘The Last Frontier,’ that appeared to have solid viewership but still failed to move forward. Still, ‘Palm Royale’ has several advantages working in its favor. Beyond audience interest, the series carries a strong prestige factor. It has been largely well-received by critics and fans alike.
The cast alone adds weight to its case, featuring not only Wiig in the lead role but also a roster of respected regulars and attention-grabbing guest stars. From a brand perspective, ‘Palm Royale’ is exactly the kind of glossy, conversation-starting series that helps define a streaming service’s identity. Also, Carol Burnett, who plays the sharp-tongued Norma Dellacorte, recently shared her own doubts about the show’s future.
Speaking ahead of the Season 2 finale, the legendary comedian was candid about where things stand. “It seems like a lot of the stories were wrapped up in this final season,” Burnett told The New York Post. “They’d have to, I think, create new characters, because a lot of the people who are in it are doing other things now.” Burnett also admitted that she hasn’t been told whether the series will continue. “I don’t know,” she said when asked directly about the possibility of another season. Created by Abe Sylvia and loosely inspired by Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 novel ‘Mr. & Mrs. American Pie, ‘Palm Royale’ centers on Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons (Wiig). She is an ambitious outsider determined to claw her way into the elite circles of the ultra-exclusive Palm Royale country club.
