Is Callum Turner the next James Bond? Here's everything we know about Daniel Craig's replacement
Word on the street is that there is a new 007. Actor Callum Turner has reportedly been cast as the next James Bond. Earlier, reports stated that Turner had revealed he was making public the news of his reported casting.
Per GQ UK, Turner is now the "red hot" favorite to be Bond, taking over Daniel Craig. "As one of the more quietly impressive British actors of his generation, we’ve been long-standing advocates for him to take over as 007,” the publication said. “You’ll find within him a complex, brooding darkness, occasionally breaking through the edifice of his runway-grade handsome looks."
According to The Daily Mail, Turner, who shot to prominence with 'Fantastic Beasts', has been telling friends that the role is his, though the news is yet to be officially confirmed. The outlet also added that his pop star girlfriend, Dua Lipa, could be tapped to create the new song.
Turner starred as the lead in 'Queen and Country' and the mystery series, 'Glue'. He later shot to fame as Theseus in 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' and 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore'. His role in 'The Capture' earned him a nomination for Best Actor in the British Academy Television Awards. In September 2025, Deadline reported that 'Dune' director Denis Villeneuve was keen on casting a Brit actor for 'Bond 26' and the process would go on floors once 'Dune: Part III' would be complete.
After Villeneuve was revealed to direct 'Bond 26', the writer of the next film, Steven Knight, was confirmed in July. Knight became a household name for creating the popular crime drama 'Peaky Blinders' starring Cillian Murphy, and his new gig was met with affirmation from fans and critics alike.
Should Turner indeed be picked as the next actor to play the greatest spy who ever lived, he will have some tough shoes to fill. Craig made the character his own after starring in 'Casino Royale' and playing the role with absolute panache over the next four films. 'No Time to Die' was his final film, and it was a bittersweet end for the character. The reboot of the franchise will now also see a new name at the helm, though much about the plot remains unknown.
