Arriving at the onset of the festive season, 'A Nasty Piece of Work' is the latest superbly scary offering from Hulu and Blumhouse's iconic anthology horror 'Into the Dark'.

After last year's installment 'Pooka' saw the children's toy bringing the element of horror, this time, the horror takes the shape of every adult's worst nightmare—a horrible boss. Add to this a terrifying competition that you must partake in to climb the corporate ladder, and voila, you end up with 'A Nasty Piece of Work' indeed!

Here's all you need to know about the Christmas feature.

Release date

Arriving in just a week's time to scare fans out of their wits, 'A Nasty Piece of Work' premiers on Friday, December 6, only on Hulu.

Julian Sands as the boss in 'A Nasty Piece of Work' (Hulu)

Plot

No amount of bloodshed is too much, seems to be the idea behind 'A Nasty Piece of Work'. The feature "follows a mid-level employee at a large company who finds out he’s not getting the Christmas bonus or promotion he was expecting. But then his boss invites him over for dinner with a proposal for how he can climb the corporate ladder, by beating his professional rival in a violent competition,” according to the official plot synopsis.  So, we're expecting this to be just like 'The Purge', but with professional motivations. Very Blumhouse indeed!

Creator

Produced by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions that has gifted horror fans with 'Paranormal Activity', 'The Purge' franchise and 'Culture Shock', 'Into the Dark: A Nasty Piece of Work' comes from director Charles Hood. The story is written by Paul Soter.

(L-R): Natalie Hall, Dustin Milligan and Kyle Howard in a scene from 'A Nasty Piece of Work'. (Hulu)

Cast

Julian Sands of 'What/If' and 'Warlock', Dustin Milligan from 'Schitt's Creek', Angela Sarafyan of 'Westworld', Orange County's Kyle Howard, Sully's Molly Hagan and Natalie Hall from 'Only the Brave'  star in the upcoming episode.

Trailer

The official trailer for 'A Nasty Piece of Work' is finally here and, boy, are things about to get nasty!

A clear reminder of the Purge franchise that Blumhouse had gifted us, there's suspense, eerie stillness, and satirical commentary on the job culture that the trailer brings out effortlessly. The one thing that makes the clip full of blood and murder even more chilling is the impeccable title track, fresh out of one of those jewelry boxes that somehow give you the creeps despite their supposedly sweet and childlike.
