NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hurricane Idalia has taken over headlines all across the country which is moving from Northern Florida to Georgia, as reported by CNN.

As the country braces itself for more impact, ‘Morning Joe’ dedicated an entire segment to Hurricane Idalia.

On August 30, in the absence of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, ‘Morning Joe’ spent the entirety of their news report on Hurricane Idalia, and left no stone unturned when it came to the coverage.

'Morning Joe' also shared a video from their post in which Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reported on Idalia's recent updates while urging people to “hunker down” and assuring citizens that help was coming.

‘Morning Joe’ dedicates an entire day to Hurricane Idalia

On MSNBC’s YouTube channel, 11 videos were uploaded under 'Morning Joe,' all dedicated to Hurricane Idalia and its coverage.

In addition, the highlights were close to 25 minutes, compared to the 40 minutes or more each day.

Dedicated viewers of ‘Morning Joe’ took notice of the coverage and weren’t too pleased about it.

Viewers took to X to criticize ‘Morning Joe’s coverage on August 30. ‘Morning Joe’ wrote on Twitter, "Please hunker down wherever you are, don't mess with this storm." --Gov DeSantis on #Idalia”

‘Morning Joe’ faces backlash over Hurricane Idalia coverage

Viewers expressed their disappointment and addressed the issue of the show being taken over by Hurricane Idalia coverage.

A user shared, “We did not need the whole show to be about the storm. There are 49 other states that it basically doesn’t affect. Waste of a show today sorry. Hope the poor people of Florida will be ok. Their Gov, who cares.”

Some mocked ‘Morning Joe’ as they believed it had turned into the “weather channel.”

One person wrote, “Not sure if I was watching Morning Joe or the weather channel. Over an hour spent on the hurricane and it’s still going on,”

Another person said, “I’ve had Morning Joe on for an hour and a half so far this morning only to learn it has been turned into a Florida Weather Channel.”

Viewers continued to question ‘Morning Joe’ as one user asked, “I appreciate this is a big story but did we need all 3 hours devoted to it???”

Another user asked, “Anything else going on today or is this the entire “4-hour” (1.5-hour) show?”

The backlash and questioning after ‘Morning Joe’s coverage of Hurricane Idalia continued, “Is this nationwide nonstop coverage really necessary?”
