Internet threatens to ‘boycott’ 'Mana June' star June Shannon as she sells candies amid theft allegations
DENVER, COLORADO: Internet users threatened to boycott Mama June, also known as June Shannon, after she was seen promoting Freezies candies in a video. In the video, Shannon mentioned that although she was on a weight loss journey and not currently consuming the candies, she expressed her love for the company and encouraged fans to try out their products.
However, fans were furious with the reality star amidst her ongoing controversies with her daughter Alana, as well as her revelation about taking weight loss injections. Many expressed their disappointment and stated that they would rather boycott Shannon than support her endorsements.
"Boycott, no one is going to buy anything from you, take care of your children, you were definitely wrong," said one user. "BOYCOTT JUNE‼️ BOYCOTT JUNE‼️ BOYCOTT JUNE‼️ BOYCOTT JUNE‼️ BOYCOTT JUNE‼️," said another. "I would not buy anything this woman promotes," added one.
Some took a sarcastic jibe at her weight loss journey. "Lol weren’t you just advertising semaglutide yesterday??" said one. "I see you got Ana’s girls. Are you stealing their benefits checks too!??" said another.
Has June Shannon used ‘weight loss injections’ to lose weight?
June Shannon, aged 44, recently disclosed that she turned to weight loss injections after experiencing a significant weight gain of 130 pounds. Taking to Instagram on April 16, June shared a video where she elaborated on her choice to begin receiving semaglutide injections.
Initially, she had revealed she had undergone gastric sleeve surgery in May 2015, which helped her significantly in her weight loss journey. Starting at 550 pounds, she managed to bring her weight down to 311 pounds on her own before the surgery. Within six weeks post-surgery, she further dropped to 195 pounds.
After the surgery, she underwent various cosmetic procedures on her arms, chin, back, tummy, and breasts, and was able to maintain a weight range of 130 to 150 pounds. However, during her daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's cancer battle, Mama June began to regain some of the weight she had lost.
Alana Thompson accuses June Shannon of stealing money for drugs
In the teaser clip for the new season of Mama June: Family Crisis, Alana Thompson, also known as Honey Boo Boo, confronted her mother, June "Mama June" Shannon, about allegedly taking money from her. Tearfully, Alana expressed her frustration and accused June of not caring that she took their money.
June responded to Alana's accusation by admitting that she used the money to fuel her drug addiction. The exchange became more intense as Alana sought confirmation from June's husband, Justin Stroud, about the alleged theft. Despite June's denial and attempts to defend herself, Alana remained steadfast in her belief that money was taken from her.
