LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: With 2023 more than halfway through, the 2024 Presidential elections are fast approaching. This also means that ‘The View’ will be laser focussed on these elections and some of the major candidates. Other than POTUS, most of the candidates who are talked about the most belong to the Republican party. Some of the GOP candidates who are often mentioned on ‘The View’ include Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Ron DeSantis.

‘The View’ co-hosts Sarah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sara Haines have all made their anti-Trump stance fairly evident. In addition to this, on Thursday, ‘The View’ co-hosts also discussed Fox News and their recent attempt to steer away from Trump ahead of the elections.

‘Not a legitimate news network’

The most recent conversation on ‘The View’ was about whether Fox News is stuck with Donald Trump for the 2024 elections, and the co-hosts had a lot to say about the news outlet as well as about Trump. Goldberg looked at her cue card before announcing the topic, “Reports indicate that Rupert Murdoch is worried that he might be stuck with you-know-who. He is searching for another candidate, meanwhile, back at the ranch, three former Fox execs are apologizing for their role in creating Fox News, citing its negative impact. Can Fox turn this beat around?” Behar was the first to chime in, “You know they say, you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas, and this guy created the cult, now he can’t deprogram them.”

While Trump-bashing isn’t new on ‘The View’, Hostin was quick to make a comment about Fox News,  saying, “I think they can reimagine it, they can't call it Fox News, it is not a legitimate news network, I mean I think think that’s clear.” Griffin, who is a Republican and has previously worked with Trump, also had something to say about the network, “Where go the viewers and money, goes Fox.” According to Griffin, Fox News could potentially make a shift to DeSantis while still continuing to pivot back to Trump. Murdoch and his conglomerate’s intentions might be a question mark, but ‘The View’ evidently can’t stop talking about Trump and viewers have caught a drift of this.

‘Leave the man alone’

The internet hasn’t held back on their opinions after ‘The View’ co-hosts discussed Fox News and Trump. One person pointed out The View’s “obsession” with Trump as they wrote, “Your obsession with Donald Trump is concerning. Joe Biden is beyond incompetent, yet you ignore all of his gaffes. Get your priorities in order, ladies.” People have also caught on to the Trump-bashing and one said, “These "experts" will turn this into a Trump bashing fest.” The internet has also pointed out how ‘The View’ can’t be “objective” as a tweet read, “The View is so slanted, how can they walk straight, yet they have the nerve to go after any other network.  If they were objective they’d call out the outrageous reporting of some hosts on MSNBC, CNN & FOX & praise the good ones.  Of course they 1st need personal insight.”

Primarily, the internet can’t get over how often ‘The View’ talks about Trump. One person said, “This show cannot be serious right now when every single day they talk about Trump. The view would have nothing to talk about if they didn’t talk about Trump. They need to leave the man alone and talk about something else.” Another user wrote, “The question is why y’all don’t stop talking about Trump and find something important to talk about.” Some people have even questioned if the Trump talk is all for viewership, stating, “Admit it Trump is good for your ratings. Since he left office your viewership sank father then the Titanic.”
