NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Thursday, September 14, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy punched back at members of his own party, particularly Florida Republican Rep Matt Gaetz who threatened to remove him for not delivering on promises he made in January.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share this with his followers and report on Gaetz's statement against McCarthy.

In addition, Hannity’s official website has also updated the news on McCarthy vs Gaetz in a video clip.

However, the internet hasn’t responded positively and Hannity’s tweet faced heavy backlash.

Sean Hannity reports on Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz

On X, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity wrote, “*McCARTHY v. GAETZ HEATS UP*”

Hannity also featured an article titled, “A HOUSE DIVIDED! McCarthy Challenges Gaetz to 'File the F—king Motion' to Remove Him.”

In the article, Hannity’s staff wrote, “According to The Daily Caller…Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz had criticized McCarthy on Tuesday, giving him a list of demands while threatening a motion for McCarthy to vacate the chair.”

In response, McCarthy said, “If you want to file the motion. File the f**king motion.”

Furthermore, McCarthy made an announcement shortly before Gaetz delivered his speech on Tuesday, stating that the Republican Party would initiate an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. However, Gaetz expressed the view that this action was insufficient.

Gaetz, along with fellow House Republicans, maintained their pressure on McCarthy to push for an impeachment inquiry.

The Speaker stated that he now believes there is sufficient evidence arising from the House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight Committee to justify proceeding with an impeachment inquiry against the president.

Hannity’s tweet also addressed a tweet by Rep Matt Gaetz titled, “If by next week I am not seeing action from Kevin McCarthy to come into compliance with the deal he made in January, then I wouldn’t bet against seeing motions to vacate the chair regularly until he is removed.”

Internet reacts on McCarthy and Gaetz ‘heat-up’

In response to Fox News anchor Sean Hannity’s tweet about the McCarthy and Gaetz heat-up, one person wrote, “McCarthy doesn't want to impeach because Biden may expose a lot of people.”

Another person wrote, “Can they just vote McCarthy out already. JEEEZ”, and one said, “McCarthy needs to table his hubris and do what he promised in Jan or step aside.”

One more commented, “Yeah McCarthy needs to remember his lie,” and another wrote, “Remove him.”

A fan simply said, “McOut.”
