Internet calls 'The View' host Ana Navarro 'truth teller' after she labels Rep Matt Gaetz 'nepo baby'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Monday, October 2, 2023, ‘The View’ co-hosts discussed how Congress averted a government shutdown, but the focus remained on Congressman Matt Gaetz and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Each co-host shared their opinion on Gaetz as Ana Navarro gave a brief history of the man after she proceeded to name him a “nepo baby” because of his father Don Gaetz.

In turn, the internet has applauded Navarro for taking on Gaetz during the segment, and also labeled her “truth teller” for her candor on ‘The View’.

Ana Navarro slams Matt Gaetz on ‘The View’

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg announced the topic to the rest of her panel, “With less than three hours to go, the House Speaker Kevin McCarthy relied on votes from who? The Democrats to avoid a government shutdown this weekend."

She continued, “And now he is going on the defense against the Republicans who want to make him pay for it. Take a look.”

‘The View’ then played a clip of Kevin McCarthy, followed by Matt Gaetz, who claimed he will file a motion to vacate against McCarthy. As the clip ended, Goldberg paused before she let out a huge sigh and then asked her co-hosts to take over.

Ana Navarro was the first co-host to speak on the matter. She said, “I honestly can't believe that it took Matt Gaetz to get me to root for Kevin McCarthy, but this is…this is literally where I am. Look, I think Matt Gaetz loves this, right?”

She continued, “He doesn't do this because he's not a legislative workhorse. This is not a guy with an enormous amount of accomplishments. He is the son of a very good man in Florida named Don Gaetz who was the ultimate establishment Republican. He was Senate President under Jeb Bush, made a ton of money.”

“In other words, Matt Gaetz is a nepo baby who skated into office on his father's coattails, and he wants to make a name for himself. He wants the clips and the fundraising, and he loves we're talking about him. He's not doing this for the country. He's doing this for his ego,” concluded Navarro.

In addition to receiving a huge round of applause from the live audience, Navarro also received praise online after this particular part of the segment made rounds on social media and on ‘The View’s Instagram page.

After the clip of Ana Navarro taking on Matt Gaetz made it to Instagram, people flooded the comments section of the post and agreed with the host. One person wrote, “Ana is the best truth teller.”

“Love it when Ana gives the back story,” commented one user, while another wrote, “Ana is the truth! Bravo Ana! Always!”

Navarro’s fans continued to appreciate her in the comments as on aid, “Ana – telling it like it is.” Another fan wrote, “@ananavarrofl I was saying the exact same thing to myself.”

Several seemed to have agreed with Navarro’s take on Gaetz as one wrote, “Nailed it,” while another wrote, “What she said! Also, he needs to be gone.”
