How many dogs does Kim Kardashian own?
Kim Kardashian owns three Pomeranians, namely Sushi, Soba, and Saké.
Out of the trio, Sushi is the most senior in age, and interestingly, it was Kim's firstborn daughter, North West, who decided upon the name for this particular furry companion, as per Yahoo.
In the year 2019, Kim reached out to her Instagram community for suggestions on what to name a pair of adorable Pomeranian puppies that she had just welcomed into her home.
“Meet our new babies! We just need names! North came up with names that go with our other Pomeranian Sushi. She wants white baby girl to be named Saké and the black baby boy either Soba (Noodle) or Soy Sauce,” she captioned the snaps at that time.
Why did Kim Kardashian give away a chihuahua named Princess?
During the fourth season of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', Kim Kardashian found an older female chihuahua wandering near a nail salon she frequented. Kim saved the dog from potential danger, such as the weather, car accidents, or other animals, as per Kardashian Dish.
In an episode called 'Must Love Dogs', Kim took care of the chihuahua and named her Princess, which was a reference to Kim's childhood nickname and her self-proclaimed title on her Myspace page in 2006.
Kim rescued Princess from being euthanized at an animal shelter and decided to take her home in search of her original owner.
Despite initial disapproval from her family, Kim took Princess to her condo and got her checked by a vet, who discovered she had a serious uterus infection that required immediate surgery.
Princess had to undergo surgery for pyometra, a condition that can be prevented by spaying female dogs.
Even though the surgery went well, Princess would require constant care. Kim was upset because her busy schedule couldn't accommodate Princess's needs. Kourtney Kardashian, being the supportive older sister, comforted Kim during this difficult time.
“You got to imagine that if you didn’t take her [Princess] home with you, she would’ve died out on the street," Kourtney told Kim.
At that point, the vet volunteered to adopt Princess in order to give her a second chance at life.
Kim Kardashian hit with criticism for keeping her dogs in the garage
Kim Kardashian faced backlash in December 2022 for sharing and then deleting a TikTok video showcasing her Pomeranians, Sushi, and Sake, living in her garage, as per Page Six.
In the video, the dogs can be seen in a festive setup with stockings and Christmas trees but also showed them prancing around the garage next to their pen and pee pads.
The video received backlash, which intensified after Kim removed it from her and daughter North West's joint account.
Then a viewer commented, “Provide a better life than this for your dogs." Another person added, "They have acres of land but they keep dogs in their garage smh." “Probably bc it doesn’t fit the ‘aesthetic’ lol,” said another user.
