Last week's episode of 'In the Dark' was a big one and saw the return of a fan-favorite character back to Chicago (where the show is set), and the departure of another character — this time for good, however.

After Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld) and Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz) decided to work with Josiah (Maurice Compte), things took a turn for the worse. Josiah was Nia Bailey's (Nicki Micheaux) rival and Murphy had hoped that working with him to take down Nia would take her out of Nia's business as well. Things got complicated when Max Parrish (Casey Deidrick) was released from prison as Dean Riley (Rich Sommer) tried to use him as bait to get Murphy to confess.

Unfortunately, Max was a little too obvious and when Dean gets fired from the lack of solid evidence, he runs to Nia to snitch on Murphy, asking for a cut of Nia's new shipment in return. This led an angry Nia to pursue Murphy and when she does catch up with her, she beats Murphy to a bloody pulp. Just as Nia sets to shoot Murphy for her betrayal, someone else shoots Nia in the back. Jess Damon (Brooke Markham) had finally returned to Chicago — though for a while there, we were not so sure as Jess was quite angry with Murphy.

In this week's episode, we will see the characters deal with the fallout of the events of the last episode. The official synopsis states, "With stakes high for everyone, Murphy, Jess, Felix, Max and Dean must each contend with the fallout following an attempt to cut off Nia's (guest star Nicki Micheaux) supply and take her down." The promo for this week's episode shows the gang (except for Dean) scramble to deal with Nia's dead body. While Max suggests to just run, Jess insists on cleaning up. We must also remember that Ben's (Chris Perfetti) body is also in the same location. After Ben was sent away with Nia's drugs, he overdosed and died.

Murphy and the others will attempt to bury Nia's body in the forest — we also see that Sterling (Natalie Liconti) is back and working with Murphy, so we can expect things between Sterling and Jess to still be good. To recall, Jess proposed to Sterling in an earlier episode and the latter accepted. We also don't know how Dean will react when he realizes his payday is not coming but its obvious, he is only going to get more vengeful against Murphy.

'In the Dark' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c. Watch the promo for this week's episode below.
