When does ‘I am Groot’ release?

The series will premier on August 10, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.

What is ‘I am Groot’ all about?

'I Am Groot' is an American animated series of shorts created by Ryan Little for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character Groot. It features characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The series is produced by Marvel Studios, with Little serving as head writer and Kirsten Lepore directing. 'I Am Groot' was announced in December 2020, and work on the series began in August 2021. The involvement of Lepore and Little was revealed later that November.

Groot first appeared in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in the year 2014, which showcased the character sacrificing his life for his friends and thereby giving rise to Baby Groot. Thereafter, Baby Groot was part of 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2', 'Avengers: Infinity War', and 'Avengers: Endgame'. 'I am Groot' is going to be Marvel Studios' second Disney+ animated series after the anthology series 'What if...?'.

Who stars in ‘I am Groot’?

Vin Diesel will be the voice of Baby Groot. Bradley Cooper will reprise his role as Rocket, a member of the Guardians who is a genetically modified raccoon bounty hunter and a master of weapons and military tactics.

Vin Diesel

The American actor was born in Alameda County, California. Diesel's first film role was a brief uncredited appearance in the drama film, 'Awakenings', in 1990. In 1994, he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short drama film, 'Multi-Facial', a semi-autobiographical film that follows a struggling multiracial actor stuck in the audition process. In 2000, Diesel had a supporting role in the drama thriller, 'Boiler Room'. He got his breakthrough leading role as the anti-hero Riddick in the science-fiction film, 'Pitch Black', later that year. In September 2020, Diesel announced his venture into music, with the release of the song, 'Feel Like I Do', produced by Kygo.

Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper, Diesel's voice actor co-star on the film, has been nominated for the Academy Awards nine times. Cooper has received one BAFTA, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and two Grammy Awards. Cooper's most critically and commercially successful films include Wedding Crashers (2005), The Hangover (2009), Limitless (2011), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), American Hustle (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), American Sniper (2014) and A Star Is Born (2018).
