This is by far the biggest news that we could expect for this show! The most anticipated Amazon Prime original series ‘Hunters’ has now found its way to the world of comics. It’s not just a promotional stunt but rather an official prequel to the main plot. It’s not every day that a show publishes an entire comic strip, only to take you back to the events before the on-screen story starts.

The streaming giant teams up with Dark Horse publications and comes up with a short and sweet comic strip, 'Hunters: Eye for Eye, Tooth for Tooth', featuring the killing of Pietr Von Schtaub, who was the first prey of the 'Hunters' and Ruth Heidelbaum (Jonah’s grandmother) was an active part of the hunt.

So far, the official trailer of ‘Hunters’ exposes us to the team of Nazi hunters, led by Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino), who enlists a 19-year old Jonah Heidelbaum (Logan Lerman) after he loses his grandmother to a gruesome murder. What follows is a ruthless hunt of the underground Nazis spread across the United States and making them pay for their crimes of the Holocaust, while unraveling spine-chilling facts about each one of them. While the on-screen story starts with Jonah joining the cause, we have been unaware of how his grandmother has been involved in the same and what her role was.

And then, your unsaid questions get answered.

Here’s how the plot to the prequel rolls.

Schtaub, now known as Hans Fisher, was a doctor at the concentration camps in Auschwitz. He was infamous for extracting teeth of the prisoners and children and collecting them. Ruth has done her homework and has been following Schaub/Fisher, living in New Jersey. Meyer sets up Roxy (Tiffany Boone) to bomb Fisher’s car. The team meets up later only to find out that Ruth’s grandson, Jonah is charged for swindling bank checks. Ruth is very concerned about the young boy and asks Meyer to assure her of Jonah’s safety and that he should never be a part of or even know of the 'hunt'.

The question remains that are the comics only to raise the intrigue for the show or will it become a full-blown edition. If you ask us, we would love to have the story extended way beyond the ten-episode stream and continue as a regular comic series.

The eight-page strip is now available on Amazon, in case you want a quick run-through.

‘Hunters’ drops on Amazon on Friday, February 21, 2020.
