Hulu orders 'Nine Perfect Strangers' series starring Nicole Kidman; announces renewal of 'Marvel Runaways', 'Pen15', 'Ramy'
Hulu has an exciting line-up for summer especially for Marvel fans with live-action series and animated stories.
The official Twitter handle of the streaming site made the announcements on Wednesday, and the most exciting is the renewal of the show 'Marvel Runaways' for a third season. Along with this, the network will also be introducing 'Ghostrider' and 'Helstrom' to their summer line up. The tweet said, "Our line-up of @Marvel live-action shows just got even hotter. Get ready for: Ghost Rider, Helstrom, Runaways S3."
The streaming site is also introducing animated stories. Hulu said, "The more @Marvel the better. In addition to our live-action shows, get ready for the following animated stories coming your way: Howard the Duck, Tigra & Dazzler, M.O.D.O.K., Hit-Monkey, The Offenders."
'Pen15', the middle-school comedy series, has also been picked for a second season by Hulu. It stars Maya Erskine, Anna Konkle, Mutsuko Erskine, Richard Karn, Taylor Nichols, Melora Walters, Taj Cross, and Dallas Liu in lead roles.
'Ramy' has also been picked up for a second season by the streaming site. The show about Ramy Hassan, a first-generation Egyptian-American on a spiritual journey who is conflicted between his religious identity and himself. The show's first episode aired on April 19.
Hulu also announced that they will be introducing a brand new cook show with David Chang and Chrissy Teigen at the helm of it. Hulu tweeted, "We can handle the heat, so we're heading into the kitchen. We're cooking up a brand new show with @DavidChang and @ChrissyTeigen.

According to Variety, Hulu has also given series orders for 'Nine Perfect Strangers', which will star Nicole Kidman in the lead role.
The show is based on the book of the same name authored by 'Pretty Little Liars' writer Liane Moriarty. Kidman is also set to executive produce the show.
The streaming site has also given series order for 'The Dropout', which will star Kate McKinnon in the lead role, and she will play Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes. This will be a limited series.
'Solar Opposites' from Justin Roiland (the voice of Rick and Morty) and Mike McMahan, the executive producer of 'Rick and Morty', will also be introduced on Hulu.
'Crossing Swords' will also make its debut in 2020. Hulu is also making a limited series titled 'Looking for Alaska' based on the book by John Green and the show is currently in production.
Hulu has also announced that it will be making an original drama series 'Wu Tang: An American Saga'. The tweet read, "RZA & GZA & Raekwon & Ghostface Killah & Inspectah Deck & Method Man & Masta Killa & Cappadonna & Ol' Dirty Bastard. From the slums of Shaolin... the @WuTangClan strikes again (sic)."
They are also adapting the novel 'High Fidelity' into a series, which will star Zoe Kravitz. According to Hulu, "The show will take viewers into the life of an obsessed record store owner searching for the perfect romance and the perfect top-five playlist."
Kat Dennings will be starring in Hulu's new comedy series titled 'Dollface'. The show will be about a girl who gets dumped by her boyfriend and has no girlfriends. How she navigates life would be presented through Kat's character. They also made an announcement about Mindy Kaling's new series titled '4 Weddings' which will star Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Missandei in 'Game of Thrones', Rebbeca Rittenhouse, Nikesh Patel, Brandon Smith, and John Reynolds. The series is slated to release on July 31.
Elle Fanning will star and executive produce a new show titled 'The Great' which will also star Nicholas Hoult. "The show is a genre-bending, anti-historical ride through 18th Century Russia following the wildly comic rise of Catherine the Nothing to Catherine the Great."
Abigail Spencer, Rodrigo Santoro, and Mena Massoud will star in a series titled 'Reprisal', which is a hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads.
Hulu has just concluded airing the first season of 'The Act' starring Joey King and Patricia Arquette in the lead roles.
The show was based on the real-life story of Gypsy Blanchard and her mother Dee Dee Blanchard and the toxic relationship between the two which led to murder. The show gained a lot of popularity after the real-life Gypsy spoke up against the show for not seeking permission before making the series.
Hulu will also see the premiere of 'Catch-22' on May 17 which stars George Clooney, Christopher Abbott and Hugh Laurie among others. The show is based on the book of the same name and is a miniseries directed by Clooney.
