'Stranger Things' and WWE collide in a crossover no one saw coming — and it's wild
With 'Stranger Things' Season 5 Volume 2 set to premiere on Thursday, December 25, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch, and the makers, too, are leaving no stone unturned to keep the hype up. Adding to the excitement, 'Stranger Things' is set for an unexpected crossover with WWE's Monday Night Raw. As out of place as it may sound, the collaboration could be a special treat for fans of both shows.
Netflix has confirmed the unexpected crossover, which is set to air live on Monday, January 5, 2026. The special episode will stream on Netflix just days after the release of 'Stranger Things' Season 5's conclusion, combining the popular show with one of Netflix's biggest scripted series, as per Marca. The announcement comes as 'Stranger Things', now in its fifth and final season, continues to dominate Netflix's charts and the wider pop culture conversation. Volume 1 of the final season premiered on Wednesday, November 26, with the series finale set for Wednesday, December 31.
Teasing the crossover, Netflix's official promotional post read, "THE WWE GETS STRANGER … January 5 LIVE only on Netflix at 8 PM ET | 5 PM PT." Details of how 'Stranger Things' will factor into WWE Raw remain under wraps, but the crossover has already generated buzz among fans of both franchises. According to reports, the January 5 live episode will take place at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and will feature major matches, including CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker.
Moreover, the Kabuki Warriors will face Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY for the Women's Tag Team Championships, while Maxxine Dupri will defend the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch. Coming back to 'Stranger Things', co-creator of the show, Ross Duffer, has revealed the runtimes for the final episodes of the series. The second volume of 'Stranger Things' Season 5 will have three episodes.
Episodes 5 through 7 will run just over an hour each, while the final episode, 'The Rightside Up', will be the longest of the season at two hours and eight minutes, as per Variety. The final episodes of 'Stranger Things' Season 5 are similar in length to the earlier batch, contradicting rumors that the entire season would feature 90-minute to two-hour episodes. Those claims were likely fueled by season 4's extended, movie-length installments, including the finale, 'The Piggyback', which ran for two hours and 22 minutes.
