‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 6, Episode 4 preview: Annalise's murder continues to stump the team

‘Who killed Annalise?’ is the only question that has been haunting us since Season 6 premiered. Although the thought is thrown around in flash-forwards and situational breadcrumbs, it is very clear by now that Keating’s murder is inevitable and the episode could be the big reveal.
UPDATED OCT 18, 2019

ABC’s hit legal drama, ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ is living up to the fireworks it promised when it left us with the cliffhanger tension last season. While the first two episodes might have been a little slower than expected, episode three picked up the pace and the momentum is not slowing down anytime soon. The explosive 45 minutes revealed many twists and turns leading us to yet another thrilling ride with episode 4.

We leave episode three with Michaela (Aja Naomi King) pulling herself together after hearing about her biological father’s death and takes up a big case at the clinic. But episode three’s highlight was Frank discovering that Laurel was not kidnapped on her own with her baby, and perhaps, is ratting them out to FBI. So, it is most likely to be the premise for episode four, on which the ‘suspected’ murder of Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) is built. We also see a flash-forward where Michaela is arrested with her fingerprints on the murder weapon. On the other hand, Connor (Jack Falahee) is being investigated by the FBI, for the plausible murder of Annalise Keating. During interrogation, he gets into a fit of laughter and suddenly goes into convulsions, leading to a heart attack. Michaela is frantically trying to get a grasp over the situation. But from the events so far, it is clear that Connor and Michaela are involved in the murder of their professor or perhaps they are being framed.

Meanwhile, moving back and forth between the future and the present, Keating and her gang try to wiggle their way out through the never-ending legal complexities. Annalise with the help of Tegan, and the students take up a controversial case that ends up challenging her morality and that’s when she tells someone that she’s bound for hell. We have been seeing a much composed and understanding Annalise post her trip to rehab and she is trying to do things the right way. However, when she tries to frame Vivian (Sam’s ex-wife) and creates a rift between her and Gabriel, to make her return to Chicago, Annalise seems to be back to piling on her long list of ‘sins’. Will this eventually get her killed?

Annalise’s ‘possible murder’ aside, in the present-day in the life of Annalise and K4, we see Bonnie (Lisa Weil) and Nathan (Billy Brown) doing due diligence on Tegan, while the hunt for Laurel continues. Elsewhere, Michaela’s father is most likely alive and she heads to New York with Gabriel to find the truth.

"How To Get Away With Murder" Season 6, Episode 4 airs Thursday on ABC at 9 pm.
