NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ Show meteorologist Al Roker has recently received a big surprise from his co-hosts and a special guest for his upcoming 69th birthday.
Although Roker will be celebrating his huge milestone over the weekend, ‘Today’ show hosts made sure to make it more memorable for him with plenty of celebrations.
On Friday, August 18 ‘Today’ broadcast, special guest Jon Batiste surprised Roker as he served up a birthday cake and snacks to the hosts on live TV.
Meanwhile, Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones were reportedly missing from the morning show and were nowhere to be seen during Roker’s birthday celebrations.

How old is Al Roker?
Born on August 20, 1954, this Sunday marks Al Roker’s 69th birthday as he is all set to celebrate it with his family and friends.
Popularly known for his weather forecasting skills on ‘Today’ Show, his co-anchors gave him a fun surprise and shocked him when Jon Batiste came out with cake and some bacon.
Dylan Dreyer, Roker, and Vicky Nguyen kicked off the segment as Dreyer revealed, “It is an extra special weekend."
She continued, “You're celebrating your birthday on Sunday, and since we won't see you this weekend (because you want nothing to do with us), we thought we'd celebrate with a special guest."
She then asked, “Can you bring out the food?” not revealing who is it.
As a result, singer Jon Batiste began to roll out a table filled with delectable snacks and cake onto the set.
Roker’s smile widened as Batiste greeted everyone with “hello” and “happy birthday” to Roker all the way over.
The camera panned to the cake and snacks, disclosing it was a pineapple upside-down cake that Roker called an “old school recipe."
Alongside the cake was a big plate of bacon for Roker as he didn’t stop to munch on it and had a taste of it as soon as Batiste came.
Dreyer, Roker, and Nguyen thanked Batiste for joining them as he gave a hug to each one of them and congratulated Roker once again on his birthday.

Al Roker’s playful tease
When it comes to enjoying a dessert treat that appeals to both kids and adults, a lighthearted moment unfolded on the morning show involving Al Roker and his co-anchor Craig Melvin.
Roker playfully teased Melvin for his unique way of eating a popsicle during an on-air segment.
The official ‘Today’ Show Instagram page posted a carousel of images that highlighted Roker’s good-natured ribbing of Melvin’s eating habits in a video clip.
In the clip from a recent episode of the talk show, Melvin was seen moving the popsicle he was enjoying from side to side along his tongue. Rather than using his mouth, he used his tongue to guide the popsicle, bringing it near each corner of his mouth for nibbling.
Roker’s humorous comment, captured in a screenshot and included in the silent social media post, "To eat an ice pop, use the #melvinmethod. Lick it to soften, then bite it. Notice how he confuses the ice pop with lip balm. At the end, Craig's like, "Who's that?..”
