DALLAS, TEXAS: Paramount+ is set to present the horrifying case of serial killer Billy Chemirmir in its upcoming true-crime series 'Pillowcase Murders'.

The Kenyan-American man preyed upon white elderly women residing in high-end retirement communities until he was convicted and eventually murdered.

Who was Billy Chemirmir?

Billy Chemirmir was a Kenya-born man convicted of killing two people and accused in the deaths of about twenty others over a period of two years, as per WFAA.

Her targeted older women by gaining access to their residence by posing as a medical professional or maintenance person, smothering them with a pillow and stealing their jewelry and other valuables.

He was arrested in 2018 after a 91-year-old woman survived an attack and reported him to the authorities. Cops found him in the parking lot of his apartment complex holding jewelry and cash that he stole from his victims.

Police also confiscated a jewelry box which led them to Lu Thi Harris, 81, who was found dead in her bedroom.

Though Chemirmir maintained his innocence, he was found guilty of capital murder in the case of Harris' death and was later convicted in another trial for the killing of Mary Brooks, aged 87.

As authorities reexamined numerous deaths of elderly women previously classified as natural, they began to uncover connections. Eventually, Billy Chemirmir was indicted on 22 counts of capital murder. Billy was sentenced to life in April 2022.

On September 19, 2023, Chemirmir, aged 50, was found dead in his jail cell at the Coffield Unit in Tennessee Colony, Anderson County, Texas.

As per the report by Fox News, he was killed by his cellmate, Wyatt Busby, who is serving a 50-year prison sentence in a murder case.

The report quoting custodial death report filed with the attorney general's office mentions that Billy was murdered with a "knife/edged instrument."

According to WFAA, Chemirmir made sexual comments about his cellmate's children. In a fit of rage, Busby dragged him out of his cell and killed him while other prisoners watched.

Paramount+'s 'Pillowcase Murders' will present Billy Chemirmir's chilling case over three episodes. Directed by true-crime filmmaker Randy Ferrell, the series will showcase how he operated for two years without getting caught.

It will also shed light on security failures that allowed him to go on the killing spree as the body count rose in Texas.

The official synopsis reads, "When dozens of women die unexpectedly at Senior Living Communities, no one suspects that a diabolical sociopath has turned mass murder into his day job."
