How are 'Love is Blind' cast members selected?
'Love is Blind' Season 3 was filmed back to back with Season 2. While Season 1 of the show was filmed in Atlanta, Season 2 was filmed in Chicago. And, the third season of the show was filmed in Dallas. Well, the most important thing 'Love is Blind' crew members look for while choosing the cast members is that they should be belonging to the same city. And, this is made the main criterion so that the singles can move in together after the pod experience and easily introduce their partners to family and friends.
Those who want to take their shot at finding love in 'Love is Blind' fill out the form to get into the show. Moreover, these applicants are then selected by the casting department. Creator Chris Coelen says in an interview with EW, "We have a great casting department, and they reached out to people who they felt would be genuinely interested in this kind of commitment." The crew members try to not select the people who are ready to do the show only for attention and fame. However, those are selected who are honestly interested in finding the true love of their life.
Filling out the form for the show is a lengthy process. The form questions include detailed information about the family, dating life, social life, and person's personality. Backstage reports that social media plays an important role while choosing cast members. The head of casting at Kinetic Content, Donna A Driscoll reveals that social media spills a lot about a person's personality, goals, and interpersonal relationships. After these shortlisting criteria, the selected members get a call from the casting team and later are moved forward for a skype interview with the casting producer. 'Love is Blind' crew makes sure to bring the members to the show who are ready for marriage and not just looking for playful time with their partner. Keeping in benchmarks, 'Love is Blind' is once again bringing 15 men and 15 women to the show.
'Love is Blind' Season 3 is set to release on October 19 on Netflix.
