'House of Payne' Season 9 Episode 3: Curtis is 'creepy' for lusting after Malik's girlfriend Lisa, say fans

Fans are rather disturbed with the jokes and have flooded social media timelines with how wrong and 'gross' it just sounds

'House of Payne' Season 9 Episode 3 is back for its weekly dose of funnies. However, this time, some of the jokes haven't landed so well. A little context first. Malik has come home to CJ and Janine and needs to inform them that his girlfriend Lisa, who they don't like at all, is pregnant. Curtis (LaVan Davis) and Ella decide to give him moral support as he struggles to tell his parents the truth. Lisa is a stripper and that makes matters way more complicated. There's much tension and nervousness and Curtis making inappropriate jokes about Lisa isn't really flying all that well. Fans are rather disturbed with the jokes and have flooded social media timelines with how wrong and 'gross' it just sounds.

"Am i the only one who thinks that Tyler Perry went a bit far with the jokes from Uncle Curtis about malik girlfriend in these new House of Payne episodes?? #HouseOfPayne," a fan tweeted.

Others wrote that Curtis is going a little too far and is being rather insulting to Ella, a woman he used to love more than anyone else. "Curtis needs to stop this with Malik's gf. It's past creepy, it's downright inappropriate and extremely disrespectful to Ella. He didn't use to be this way. He used to love Ella above all else. Even when he was obnoxious, he clearly loved her. Now I'm doubting that. #HouseOfPayne," another wrote.

"I don't like how Curtis is lusting after Lisa," a disgruntled fan tweeted.

Others just wrote that Curtis should shut up and are more annoyed with the laugh track that plays after every few seconds, even when the jokes aren't funny, but that's a common feature of sitcoms these days.

However, the rest appreciated him and said that he is a 'whole mood', and called him an amusing buffoon. Meanwhile, CJ and Janine struggle to accept the news of Lisa's pregnancy, despite Curtis trying desperately to make the mood much lighter. 

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how the rest of the drama unfolds. Tune into 'House of Payne' on BET at 8 pm on Thursdays. There are two episodes, so if you enjoy the show there is one more to come.
