When the family comes to know about their decoy, Joel and Brooke have some explaining to do. Amidst this chaos, will the two ever admit their true feelings for each other?

Getting dumped sucks, especially if it is around the time of the holidays when you have to go and meet your family. Although there are apps that can help you find a date for any occasion, how are you ever going to explain that to your family?

Family time inevitably means they're going to set you up on a date. Based on this premise is Hallmark's upcoming Christmas film 'Holiday Date'. Here's everything you need to know about the film ahead of its release:

Release date

The film is set to release on December 14 on the Hallmark Channel.

Plot

Brooke gets dumped just before Christmas and enlists the help of an actor, Joel to play the role of her boyfriend for the holidays. Brooke had described her ex as "Mr. Christmas" to her family. When she finds out that Joel is Jewish, she gets anxious about keeping up with the deceptive plan.

When her family figures out that he is Jewish, they get more curious about his background and want to know more about him. Surprisingly, they happily incorporate his Hanukkah traditions into their plans. When Christmas is celebrated alongside Hanukkah, they learn so much about each other's holiday.

Unfortunately for them, when the family comes to know about their ruse, Joel and Brooke have some explaining to do. Amidst this chaos, will the two ever admit their true feelings for each other?
