The ending of Netflix's latest crime thriller, 'His & Hers', has left fans in a tizzy. Starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, the limited series based on the 2020 Alice Feeney novel of the same name ends on a chilling note. The rest of the cast includes Sunita Mani, Crystal Fox, Pablo Schreiber, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland, Chris Bauer, Jamie Tisdale, and Poppy Liu in key roles.

The series follows a serial killer who goes on a murder spree in a small town in Georgia. Working on the case is Jack Harper (Bernthal) and his estranged wife, Anna (Thompson), who works as a reporter, as they investigate the murder of the latter's childhood friend, Rachel Hopkins (Jamie Tisdale). Things take a sordid twist when it is revealed in the first episode that Jack had an affair with Rachel.

Separate and competing investigations by the two also se them come upon the murders of two more of Anna's friends, Helen (Liu), and her third friend—and Jack’s sister—Zoe (Ireland). While on the case, Jack and Anna also become suspects due to their complicated history with each of the three victims. Motives look strong, more so for Anna, as they were her former friends.

The second half of the series picks up pace when it is revealed that Anna invited Rachel, Zoe, Helen, and gang outsider Catherine Kelly to her party. Still, the trio lures her and Catherine into the woods to be sexually assaulted. Anna is attacked, while Catherine is told to have escaped. Later, the series switches to the present day.

This is followed by her confrontation with Anna, where Lexy is shot dead by Jack and his partner, Priya (Mani). This gives the impression to fans that she was indeed the killer. However, the final twist comes in the form of Anna's mother, Alice (Fox). The series follows one year after the events, with a reunited Jack and Anna, who are raising Jack’s niece, Meg (Ellie Rose Sawyer), while also expecting a child of their own.  Anna finds her mother's handwritten notes, where she confesses to the murders and reveals the motive. She tells her daughter that she was aware of what happened on Anna's 16th birthday and vowed revenge. She also admits to faking her dementia to avoid being a suspect. The series ends with Anna and Alice looking at each other, with Alice dropping a chilling smile.

'His & Hers' is streaming on Netflix.
