'Hightown' Episode 7 Preview: Will Jackie be able to save Junior? Or will her spiral cost another life?
By the end of the previous episode 'The White Whale', Junior McCarthy (Shane Harper) was an obvious link to Sherry Henry's murder. He was spotted in the car with Osito (Atkins Estimond), who has already been brought into custody by detective Ray Abruzzo (Jas Badger Dale). Osito's girlfriend Kathleen was working on getting him a lawyer and by the looks of it, he's out on bail and hunting down Junior, because of his obvious ties with Jackie Quinones (Monica Raymund). The reason? Jackie is officially a part of Sherry's murder investigation.
Driven with her guilt over not being able to save Krista Collins — the only witness of Sherry's murder who was recently also killed by Osito — Jackie gave Frankie Cuevas (Amaury Nolasco) a stern warning. But while she promises to do all she can to keep him behind bars, Frankie will do all he can, in the upcoming episode, to keep that from happening.
Titled 'Everybody's Got a Cousin in Miami', episode 7 of 'Hightown' will see Junior fighting between life and death. The official synopsis says: "When Jackie realizes Junior's involved with Sherry Hunter's murder, she enlists Ray and the entire CCINU to track him down — before Frankie has him murdered. Renee finds herself deeply questioning her budding relationship with Ray." The official promo trailer for the episode also kicks off with Frankie asking Osito to take care of Junior and later in the clip, we see the druglord's henchman pointing a gun at Junior in the neck of the woods.
This isn't the first time Junior is being targetted for being involved in both Sherry and Krista's murders. Junior was used to dump Sherry's body in the ocean and it wasn't his fault that the tides washed her up ashore. Still, Osito had ambushed Junior on Frankie's orders and taken him for a ride with the mission to kill him but spared his life only on the condition that he threatens Krista. When Junior's attempts didn't work and Krista was about to do something reckless, Osito barged in and smashed her head.
With Jackie now fully aware of Junior's involvement in the two murders, of course her focus will be to save Junior. But that was her purpose behind hunting down Krista too, and her spiral from sobriety cost yet another life. If the past repeats, there's a high chance Jackie might not be able to save Junior. But since Ray is finally showing signs of doing some actual police work instead of masturbating to audio recordings of strippers performing oral sex, there might be some hope for the man seeking redemption.
'Hightown' airs on Sundays at 8 pm only on Starz.
