'High Fidelity': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about the novel to series adaptation

Zoe Kravitz stars in upcoming adaption series 'High Fidelity' where her character heals from a breakup through music and pop culture

Originally a romantic comedy-drama film in 2000, 'High Fidelity' was directed by Stephen Frears. It was based on Nick Hornby's 1995 novel (of the same name) with a mild change of the setting from London to Chicago and the name of the lead character.

In 2018, ABC Signature Studios announced that it would do a TV series adaptation of 'High Fidelity' also based on Hornby's British novel. It was first said to be aired of Disney+ but was taken up by Hulu because of the mature content. In 2019 it was confirmed that the series would premiere early 2020 on Valentine's Day.

Release date

'High Fidelity' is set to debut on February 14, 2020.

Plot

While the 2000 adaption of the novel had a male record store owner visiting his past relationships, the 2020 10-episode Hulu series will feature Brooklyn gentrification and chose a female lead character.

The show focuses on an owner of a record shop named Rob trying to go through a list of her 'Top  5 heartbreaks' with the help of her friends Cherise and Simon — all the while trying to heal from a breakup through music and pop culture.

Cast

The cast includes lead character Rob played by Zoe Kravitz who also is an executive producer of the show, David H. Holmes as Simon, Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Cherise and Jake Lacy as Clyde, Rob's possible love interest.
