'Hi Score Girl', originally called 'Hai Sukoa Garu' is a Japnese romantic comedy anime TV show based on the manga series of the same name. The manga series was written and illustrated by Rensuke Oshikiri and was first published on the Monthly Big Gangan magazine on October 29, 2010, ending on September 28, 2018. Before the manga series ended, Japanese animation studio JC Staff adapted it into an anime television series. Season 1 had 12 episodes and aired from July 14, 2018, to September 28, 2018. Season 2 released in Japan on October 26, 2019, and ended on December 21, 2019, after 9 episodes. The show was well received and fans have been awaiting the Season 2 drop on Netflix for quite a while. Here is what we know about the Season 2 release of 'Hi Score Girl':

Release date

Season 2 of 'Hi Score Girl' will premiere on April 9, 2020, on Netflix.

Plot

The romantic story is set in the year 1991 following the growing relationship between Haruo Yaguchi and Akira Oono, two sixth graders. Yaguchi is known as Beastly Fingers and as in an intense arcade game fan, whereas Oono, is attractive, popular and has perfect grades — pretty much the perfect girl. 'High Score Girl' Season 2 will cover the second half of the 'Hi Score Girl' manga’s story. At the close of Season 1, Yaguchi's best friend Hidaka also declared his love for Oono. So the love triangle has taken a center stage now.

Creators

Japanese animation studio JC Staff adapted the manga series into an anime television series.
