LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise is one of the most coveted franchises out there, and a lot of credit goes to Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, and James Mangold. However, ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ has added more bang for the buck by adding Phoebe Waller-Bridge to the franchise's cast. Even if someone wasn’t interested in this particular franchise, they'd most definitely think it was worth at least one watch with Waller-Bridge's signature comic talent.

Waller-Bridge might be an English actress, but she is known all around the globe for some of iconic performances including shows like ‘Fleabag’ and ‘Crashing’. Waller-Bridge is also a phenomenal screenwriter and a versatile actress, making her the perfect addition to ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ as Helen Shaw.

Who is Helena Shaw?

‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ welcomes Helena Shaw, the goddaughter of Indiana Jones, and the daughter of Basil, an old friend of Jones. If you’re thinking about just how cool Ford and Waller-Bridge’s duo will be in this upcoming movie, then we are all on the same page. Shaw and Jones are going to have a bittersweet relationship, filled with disagreements, but at the end of the day, they will protect one another. Shaw’s personality is the kind that would irk old man Jones, and that only adds to the fun when it comes to the latest ‘Indiana Jones' movie.

Shaw and Jones embark on an adventure together, much to Jones’ dismay, who is also on the cusp of retirement but Shaw pulls him right out of it. Shaw also became a person of interest and a target for the newest villain, Jürgen Voller. So, it is safe to say that Shaw will be a very important part of this installment of the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise.

Shaw will be the ‘catalyst’

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Mangold talks about Shaw’s character and labels her the ‘catalyst’ of ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.’ Mangold also says, "Helena's gotten herself in a bit of trouble, and brings [that] to Indy's doorstep. She's a character who's a wonderful set of contradictions — charming and brilliant, but also a lot of trouble." There’s no doubt that Shaw will take Jones and the viewers on a classic Indy adventure!

‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ will be available in theatres near you from June 30, 2023.
