We are now only two months away from one of the biggest K-pop festivals taking place. The HallyuPopFest was the first and largest K-pop music festival held in Southeast Asia, having launched in 2018. Every year, we had a star-studded lineup from Monsta X and NCT 127 to Wanna One and (G)I-DLE. Well, with the pandemic getting under control, the festival has gone international.

The 2022 edition will be held in London. The HallyuPopFest London ‘22 is set to be the first major K-pop festival in the UK. Along with major K-pop acts performing, fans will also get to meet them in meet-and-greets, have red carpet events and pop-up stalls for K-food, beauty and lifestyle. The lineup for the HallyuPopFest London was already exceptional with them roping in Astro, Mamamoo’s Hwasa, Everglow, ONEUS, SF9 and Cravity. And now, it turns out the main headliners just might be EXO’s Chen and Kai.

HallyuPopFest hints at Kai and Chen performing

2022 is a good year for EXO-Ls (EXO’s fandom) as we first got the group’s leader Suho returning from his mandatory military service and already dropping his second solo mini-album. Following him, we also got back everyone’s favorite main vocalist Chen. And while most idols greet their fans on VLive when they return, Chen is going all out as his first appearance will be at the SMTown Live concert at Tokyo Dome with Kai. If that wasn’t enough, it seems that the two EXO members will be headlining the two days of HallyuPopFest London ‘22.

On May 5, HallyuPopFest gave hints for their main headliners. They first shared screenshots from the music videos of the two artists that fans are sure are from Kai’s ‘Peaches’ and Chen’s ‘Shall We’. The organizers then gave three more hints for each artist such as representing global brands and releasing multiple OSTs that are applicable to Kai and Chen respectively. The last hint was a crossword puzzle that pretty much confirms it. The organizers will release the information on May 6 but EXO-Ls are already celebrating.

Update: It has been confirmed that Chen will perform on July 9, while Kai will perform on July 10.

‘My Kim Jong Bros’

One EXO-L tweeted, “MY KIM JONG BROS.” Another fan posted, “Now bark all u want bcs our Jong Kim bros are gonna slay again!” One EXO-L pointed out why Chen was the perfect headliner despite being inactive for the last 2 years, “‘Chen isn't headliner material’ the chen in question:.” Another tried to manifest, “Praying circle: KAIs Vlog with Jongdae.” One fan was surprised, “WE'RE GETTING WHAT NOW.” With a lot of Korean fans protesting to kick Chen out of EXO for getting married, one EXO-L added, “Chen is making sure that his real FANs see his performance  first than those k-b*tvches... He knows int Ls deserve  this.”
