'Guns Akimbo': Release date, cast, plot and everything else you need to know about the Daniel Radcliffe film

Upcoming action-comedy film 'Guns Akimbo' has been pitched as an "adrenaline-fueled balls-to-the-wall original action-comedy reminiscent in tone to films such as 'Kick-Ass' or 'Deadpool'".

Going by this awry attempt at selling the film as an action-comedy and its first-look images which showed 'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe holding two guns with a mad look in his eyes.

According to the film's official plot synopsis, Radcliffe must rely "on his newly-acquired gladiator skills to save his ex-girlfriend from kidnappers".

'Guns Akimbo' doesn't have a release date yet. 

Cast

The film will see Daniel Radcliffe as Miles and Natasha Liu Bordizzo as his ex-girlfriend Nova.

Bordizzo is an Australian model and actor who debuted with her character of Snow Vase in Netflix's 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny'. She also featured on 'The Greatest Showman'.

The film also stars Samara Weaving ('SMILF')  as Nix. Also part of the cast are Mark Rowley, Ned Dennehy, Hanako Footman, Jacqueline Lee Geurts, and Colin Moy.

Creators

The film is directed and written by Jason Lei Howden who is known for his work on 'Deathgasm' (2015), 'The Avengers' (2012) and 'War for the Planet of the Apes' (2017). The film is produced by Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino. 

Plot

According to the official plot, the film will see Miles' "lame existence turned insane when he enrolls in a dark website that forces strangers to compete in gladiator-style battles in their own city, then live-stream worldwide to a rabid fan base."

Up until this, Miles was just a normal guy with a crummy job, pining for his ex-girlfriend Nova.

Contestants are chosen by a clandestine gang known as Schism, who handicap the weaker contestant to further stack the odds against them.

Initially, Miles’ lifetime of running from his problems pays off as he manages to elude his first opponent but when Nova is kidnapped, he must finally stop running and overcome his fears to fight for the girl he loves.
