'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 is promising all the feels. In the premiere, we saw Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) return to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) – in a feverish dream of course. They're standing on the beach, and she cannot cross over to him just as yet, as that means certain death. It's always a relief for GA fans to watch MerDer scenes and to hear them profess love for each other because their chemistry is what made the show tick. But it's not just Derek who visited Meredith. We got to see George O' Malley (TR Knight) as well. Meredith and George walk on that beach and remember their times together. This is all in Meredith's head because in reality she's dying in hospital and all the doctors are rallying to save her.

However, while Meredith tosses and turns in a fever, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) is in the same state too. He is dying from Covid-19, and in the next episode, we see him being taken to hospital and a  desperate Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) trying to save him. The next episode has a lot of zingers, as Miranda Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) mother is brought in on a stretcher. So who is going to survive this episode?

The synopsis reads, "Bailey panics as she hears there has been a surge of COVID-19 cases, knowing she has loved ones in an assisted living facility; Jackson and Richard team up against Catherine; Teddy continues to try to mend her frayed relationships."

Teddy had dated Tom a while ago, and then the two broke off, following which, Teddy was all set to marry her best friend Owen Hunt (Kevin Hunt). However, due to some insecurities, Teddy decided to deal with her issues by sleeping with Tom, and unfortunately, Owen found out about it. He called off their wedding, and Teddy was left stranded, as neither of the men wanted to be near her. It remains to be seen whether she can mend her relationship with Tom, or if he will die without her ever being able to make peace.

'Grey's Anatomy' airs on ABC, Thursdays at 9pm.
