'Grey's Anatomy' will not be airing today at its usual 9 pm due to the Thanksgiving break, but don't worry, you won't be fretting for long. The show will return on Thursday, December 3, instead.

The medical drama began Season 17 on a bang, as Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) collapsed in the parking lot of Grey-Sloane memorial. Turns out, she has Covid-19, and the doctors are busy rallying around her to ensure a speedy recovery. But Meredith seems to have had enough — she has survived a plane crash, drowning, being beaten up by patients, almost being gunned down, and a bomb blast. She has lost enough and more people in her life, and now she's just tired of it all, as it appears. Her happy place is a limbo, where she sees her husband Derek (Patrick Dempsey) at a beach.

Derek died in a devastating car crash, all the way back in Season 11, and Meredith has struggled to move on without him. Derek's appearance came as a shock to fans, because they were least expecting him, as Dempsey was rumoured to have exited the show after much bad blood had been spilled. The good news is, he is going to be there for most of the season. That also makes us wonder, whether this is the last and final season, and if Meredith is going to die to reunite with Derek, putting all the speculation of her ending up with Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood) and Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) to rest.

The promo of Episode 4 promised the return of someone else from her past. Fans are praying that it is either Mark (Eric Dane) or Lexie (Chyler Leigh). Both of them had died back in the plane crash of Season 8 finale. Hopefully, it's not her mother Ellis Grey or her father Thatcher because we've seen enough of them.

The synopsis for episode 4 reads, "Owen faces a medical diagnosis that challenges more than he imagined; Koracick begins to go stir crazy; Maggie gets a not-so-subtle glimpse into Winston's background."

Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) tested positive for Covid-19, if you remember.

'Grey's Anatomy' returns on Thursday, December 3, on ABC at 9 pm.
