Grey's Anatomy' Season 16: Fans let down as Jackson breaks up with Maggie and finds a new 'Station 19' romance

The sudden transition of Jackson and Maggie's relationship status has left fans talking on Twitter and most of them are relieved that the two broke up.

Relationships went for a toss as the first episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 aired on September 26. The biggest blow came when Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) decided to call it quits.

When Maggie complained to Jackson how she felt alone, he had only metaphors to offer. "There's something there that is broken beyond repair", he told her, to which she replied, "In this metaphor am I the thing that's broken beyond repair? Am I the thing that should be thrown over a cliff now?" "No. No, not you, Maggie. Us," Jackson said and that was it.

One week later, they were still broken up and Jackson started hanging around with his new love interest Vic Hughes (Barrett Doss) from Station 19. It simply shows Jackson's inability to commit to one relationship and his quick pace in straddling over to the next one. Over time, most viewers have criticized Maggie's flaws but right now, it is crystal clear how Jackson is at fault. He didn't even acknowledge his wrongdoings and how he left her hanging when he disappeared into the fog.

The sudden transition of their relationship status has left fans talking on Twitter and most of them are relieved that the two broke up. "Jackson really ain’t shit how he breaks up with Maggie and then schedules a date all in the same episode #GreysAnatomy," one user posted, while another one wrote: "Jackson and Maggie can breakup. That’s fine. We tried. Moving on. #GreysAnatomy!"

"Jackson and Maggie are great characters separately. But as a couple? It ain’t it," one of them wrote, and another one tweeted, "Maggie said it's none of my business & Jackson said, I agree. Their relationship was the most flop ass s**t I've ever seen." What's more, the new Jackson-Vic angle is quite tedious and dull. "I promise you no one asked for a Vic and Jackson relationship, like why are we being punished with this boring shit #GreysAnatomy," one tweet read.

Looking at how soon Jackson moved on from his relationship with Maggie, it can be said that it was a good twist for the latter as she deserves better. What do you think? As the second episode releases on October 2 on ABC, there might be more to look forward to the Maggie-Jackson-Vic angle.
