'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 Episode 10: Will McWidow fill Alex-shaped hole in Jo's heart?
As 'Grey's Anatomy' came back from its long winter break, there were many relationship twists and turns. But the biggest question on viewers' minds is: How will the showrunners go about with Alex Karev, now that Justin Chambers has announced his exit?
He has been missing on the show for the last two episodes. Meanwhile, his wife Jo Wilson stole a baby last week and has been obsessed with him. In this week's episode, she sneaks him back into the nursery. Later, Jo finds Dr Cormac Hayes aka McWidow with the little one. Not only does he give the baby his wellness check, but also cradles him in his arms. When Jo asks him if he had any kids, he reminisces their "perfect age" and tells her he misses having that.
Ever since their interaction aired on the episode, viewers have been wondering if McWidow will turn out to be Jo's new love interest. But if that happens, what about the sparks between Meredith and McWidow? Admit it, the tension between them is pretty evident. Well, with all these new developments, there seems to be another love triangle coming in, or even a quadrangle if Andrew DeLuca's angle is taken into account.
"Jo is smiling a little too hard around McWidow," one fan noted and another wrote, "I see what y'all are doing with McWidow's interactions with Mer and Jo. Trying to fill the Alex-shaped hole in our hearts but EYE won't stand for it."
Another tweet read, "I have nothing against Dollar Store Alex, but I just really miss Alex right now and it hurts a bit more with McWidow interacting with Jo."
Many fans, however, want Meredith to end up with McWidow. "Meredith better end up with the McWidow that Cristina sent. Because Cristina obviously knows DeLuca isn’t cutting it," one tweet read and another said, "Although I’m pissed that they can’t just let Mer be single and happy. If she *has* to be with a guy I will 100% take her with McWidow over DeLuca."
Titled 'A Hard Pill to Swallow', the next episode airs on January 30 and it might drop more hints about Jo and Meredith's interactions with McWidow.
