'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16: Fans overjoyed on seeing Alex go down on his knees for Jo again

Alex proposed to Jo and asked her to return. When she is ready to go home, he gets down on one knee and tells her he doesn't want an 'out,' he wants her.'

The first episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' brought a truck full of surprises and the one that will tug at your heartstrings the most was when Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) goes down on his knees to bring back his wife Jo Wilson Karev (Camilla Luddington) into his life.

Jo has been battling depression and PTSD  and her mental health has affected their relationship. He gave her a month and Jo understood how sweet he was to give her that space. Finally, the two sat down and explained how they felt "fear" and "shame" due to which there was a communication gap. The suspenseful episode soon took a tearjerking turn. There was romance in the air and quite an unexpected proposal! Alex proposed to Jo and asked her to return. "I want you to be my wife," he told her, and she said yes, but not without a warning. "I can't promise it won't happen again."

A clip of the heartwarming moment was shared by ABC on YouTube and captioned: "Before Jo's (Camilla Luddington) recent treatment for depression, she offered Alex (Justin Chambers) an 'out,' pointing out the fact that they had never legally gotten married. When she is ready to go home, he gets down on one knee and tells her he doesn't want an 'out,' he wants her."

After watching the touching moment on the show, fans couldn't help but express their admiration for Alex. "I love Alex Karev. He just gave me the feels #GreysAnatomy," one user wrote on Twitter, while another posted, "Let me be the first to say...if Greys Anatomy kills Jo or Alex this season the show is canceled."

"Alex Karev really so pure that he proposed to Jo again," one fan wrote and posted a clapping GIF along with it. "Honestly Alex has the best character development in all of #GreysAnatomy. I'm so proud of him," one tweet read, and another said, "I love Jolex but ALEX deserves some good times, boy can’t catch a break! #GreysAnatomy!" Wondering why he suddenly decided to propose Jo, one fan posted, "Um why did Alex not say anything right away when Jo said he has an out? #GreysAnatomy!"

As the second episode airs on October 2 on ABC, it is yet to be seen where Alex and Jo's relationship goes and whether the latter stands by Alex's side now that he lent all his support when she was in a difficult situation.
