Five years after Oprah Winfrey Network won over their audiences' hearts with the premiere of the megachurch drama 'Greenleaf', it's all coming to an end with a gigantic finale that will reveal if the titular family patriarch is alive or did his stroke did end up being fatal. But as viewers mourn letting go of the family that has entertained us for five long seasons, OWN is presenting a newly announced post-finale special where the cast will go through the last five years and probably help fans arrive closure. Here's all you need to know about it.

Air date

The 'Greenleaf' reunion special will air at on August 11, at 10 pm ET/PT right after the series finale, Season 5's Episode 8 'The Eighth Day'.

Where to watch

The reunion special will air on its designated Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

Cast appearing

The main cast of 'Greenleaf' including Merle Dandridge, Keith David, Lynn Whitfield, Lamman Rucker and Deborah Joy Winans will attend the reunion. They will be accompanied by award-winning writer/executive producer Craig Wright and executive producers Clement Virgo, Kriss Turner Towne and Oprah Winfrey.

What to expect

The cast of the titular family and the creators of the show will be taking a look at favorite moments from the show and will also be answering questions from fans in the reunion special, reveals the official press release for the special. This comes after the previous Episode 7 of Season 5 or the penultimate episode of 'Greenleaf' garnered a season-high 2,117,000 viewers and continued to be Tuesday night's number one cable telecast among "women 25-54 and W18-49", they add. "During its current season, 'Greenleaf' is the #1 original series across broadcast and cable for African American women, households and total viewers."

Of course, we are hoping some of Season 5's darkest, most twisted and sassiest moments to make it to the list of favorites. One of the most shocking moments from Season 5 was AJ's suicide attempt and the very recent stroke that our beloved Bishop suffered. That he could tell his Lady Mae nothing more than an "I do" before collapsing has also sparked unrest among fans who are wondering if David will make another appearance in the finale or not. Here's hoping the last episode doesn't disappoint. And if on the off-chance it doesn't give the closure you need, there's always the reunion to fall back on.
