'Good Girls' season 3: Annie and Noah's future hangs by the thread, as she plans a return to a life of crime

What would returning to a life of crime in 'Good Girls' season 3 mean for Mae Whitman's Annie and her gone-too-soon romance with undercover agent Noah (Sam Huntington)?

Season 2 of ‘Good Girls’ ended with a grand old cliff-hanger in which Beth (Christina Hendricks) asked her BFF Ruby (Rhetta) and little sister Annie (Mae Whitman) to join her in a full-fledged life of crime, now that the two major thorns in their lives are out of the way.

As we saw, their bully/crime boss/Beth’s love on the side, Rio (Manny Montana) was shot to death – or was he? In all probability, he wasn’t but the trio doesn’t know that. And, as far as they are concerned, Agent Jimmy (James Lesure) has been disgracefully transferred, and will not be a hindrance to their criminal activities. But, if we know anything about Jimmy it’s that he is obsessed with putting bad guys behind bars. For now, he is convinced Beth is not one, but if she knowingly jumps back into money laundering, he is not going to take into account that she saved his life.

All that aside, what would returning to a life of crime mean for Annie and her gone-too-soon romance with undercover agent Noah (Sam Huntington)? After they learned of each other’s truths, they were all too eager to find ways to be in each other’s lives – well, one of them was. Noah seems to be smitten with Annie, and even though she knows that he played her, she seems to care for him, primarily because of how awesome he is with Sadie (Isaiah Stannard).

While fans of the show, are reprimanding the fictional Annie for falling for everyone who pretends to be nice and for sharing her secrets with anyone who would listen, we seem to think they make a good couple – very Romeo and Juliet-esque. In this case, it is the legal system and the criminal code of conduct that is keeping them apart.

If Annie were to accept her sister's invitation – which, let’s be real when has she ever said no to breaking the law? – there is no way she can continue seeing Noah. Unless, like Ruby’s hubby Stan (Reno Wilson), Noah too, decides that his career as a law enforcement officer is not all that important when compared to the abundant happiness of being with a criminal – and aiding and abetting her.

Well, the latter theory is less likely, but we are sure looking forward to seeing how their story will pan out in season 3, which has been renewed by NBC.

A release date, however, is yet to be assigned.
