Golden Globes 2020: Fans furious that 'Joker' bagged four nominations while 'Avengers: Endgame' gets snubbed
'Avengers: Endgame' may have broken records and hearts all over the world but apparently the Hollywood Foreign Press Association favors a different superhero movie: Todd Phillips' R-rated masterpiece, 'Joker'. The film has received four nominations for the 77th Golden Globe Awards, including the nominations for the 'Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture – Drama' award for Joaquin Phoenix and the 'Best Director - Motion Picture' award for Phillips himself.
Meanwhile, 'Endgame' has received no nominations whatsoever. This, despite being the highest-grossing movie of the year and breaking the global box office record. As is to be expected, the fans are genuinely infuriated, especially over Robert Downey Jr. and Alan Silvestri being snubbed in their relevant categories. Here are some of the reactions from Twitter:
