Senator Kamala Harris was on 'The Tonight Show' on Wednesday night,June 3, to speak about the upcoming elections, George Floyd and Donald Trump's decision to tear-gas peaceful protesters.

Speaking about the other three officers who were part of Floyd's arrest and death, Harris said, "As of today, we are one step closer to justice". However, she added that justice delayed is justice denied mentioning that Floyd's family and the rest of the community along with the people who watched the video of his death were "pained because it took this long for the other three officers to be held accountable for the crime".  She also thanked Keith Ellison, the attorney general who's looking after the case for not wasting time to ensure justice is delivered to Floyd's family, the community, and the country.

On being asked about her thoughts on the current administration's way of dealing with the situation along with the pandemic, Harris responded, "We've got a President of the United States or at least somebody who occupies the position, who doesn't understand the job and is incapable of performing the job. Most recently, the words that he speaks, are not of a President but a dictator".

Harris was a part of the protests held in Washington DC. She mentioned that her parents too had been part of various protests in the '60s and had they not done it, she was certain that she wouldn't be talking to Fallon as only the second black woman ever elected to the US Senate. She also condemned Trump's order to use tear gas on peaceful protesters while calling him an "emperor with no clothes".

Speaking about Trump's decision to threaten the deployment of the US military on the people of America, she said, "This is not the America that people fought for. This is not the America of our ideals and this is why people are marching and shouting". She also urged everyone to vote in November in order to show the world that American's are better than this.

Before speaking about the importance of the upcoming November elections, Harris mentioned that the pandemic had claimed "100,000 million lives". She also added that 40 million people have been unemployed in the past 100 days of the pandemic and the situation "could've been better if the President had not called it a hoax and minimized the seriousness of it".

Harris later spoke about that she's fighting for the 'Vote Safe Act' to be passed. She mentioned that according to the act, all states would require to have an option to vote by mail, early voting and safety measures to be exercised for the ones who decide to turn up at the polls. She also referenced Trump's words wherein he stated that he's concerned that he and the Republican party would lose if people vote by mail. She mentioned that Trump and his family have always voted by mail consistently. She further added that they're working towards ensuring that people don't have to choose between their health and their right to exercise their voice especially at this moment and time in America.
