'Primal': Release date, plot, cast, trailer, and everything else about the Adult Swim show from the creator of 'Samurai Jack'

'All earth was but one thought... and that was death,' so begins the trailer for Genndy Tartakovsky's 'Primal'
PUBLISHED SEP 3, 2019

Genndy Tartakovsky is returning to television with 'Primal'. The upcoming show from the creator of 'Samurai Jack' and 'Dexter's Laboratory' will follow on the unusual partnership between a caveman and a dinosaur as they try to survive the harsh, dangerous prehistoric earth.

The entire series focuses on survival - hunting, killing and surviving. "You know how when you watch a nature show and you see a polar bear and a seal. The polar bear is cute and charming, and the seal is so cute, but for one to survive it’s gotta eat the other, and it’s horrific,” Tartakovsky had said about the show. "We have an episode like that. We like all the characters in the show but they have to kill each other. It’s primal."

Release date

'Primal' is set to release at midnight on October 7 on Adult Swim.

Plot

According to the official synopsis released by Adult Swim, Genndy Tartakovsky's 'Primal' is "a new tale that follows a caveman at the dawn of evolution as he forms an unlikely friendship with an almost extinct dinosaur. The stunning and epic series is a painting come to life relying solely on music and graphics imagery to tell the story of two unlikely allies as they navigate through a treacherous world. After bonding over unfortunate tragedies, they seem to become each other’s only hope of survival against a common enemy."

"All earth was but one thought... and that was death."

So begins the trailer for Genndy Tartakovsky’s 'Primal'.

It is all about survival is the latest series by Genndy Tartakovsky. 'Primal' puts the focus on a caveman as he navigates a world where dinosaurs face imminent extinction. But even as the thrilling trailer features violence and bloodshed, the series is going to go beyond that. “Forget about the violence and stuff, there’s plenty of that to go around. It’s these serious themes. The biggest thing is that we trust the audience. It’s 10 episodes, no dialogue, and some of it’s pretty intense, so we are going to rely on you the audience to understand it and to pay attention," Tartakovsky had said.
