'General Hospital' spoilers: No new episode on August 30? But there are epic cliffhangers in store!

In 'General Hospital', there is not a single moment when drama and suspense are not brewing — and this week would be no different either, for your favorite Port Charles residents. The last time we caught up with the action, Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) was issuing "a dire warning" to help Anna, Faison was catching some heat, and shots were being fired. A rollercoaster of an episode, the drama, however, rolls into the remaining half of the week.

Unfortunately for the die-hard followers of the soap, there is a little bit of a dampener in store. As it turns out, the beloved ABC series has gone on a short hiatus and won't be back with new episodes until Tuesday, September 4. But that doesn't mean fans won't have enough thrilling content to binge on until then. In fact, 'General Hospital' is going to pack in some exciting and must-not-miss throwback episodes for your viewing pleasure this week.

Beginning Wednesday (August 29), GH viewers will be treated to some of the most epic cliffhangers in the form of repeat telecasts - a trend that is expected to continue through the rest of the week. To make it simpler, the telecast schedule for 'General Hospital' will look something like this: original January 29 episode this Thursday (August 30), original January 30 episode on Friday (August 31), and original February 9 episode on Monday (September 3).

Clearly, GH fans are in for one gala week as the epic throwbacks correspond to some of the biggest cliffhangers from the season. Amongst the moments that are not-to-be-missed-under-any-circumstances are scenes where Faison shoots Nathan, and then when Jason shoots Faison, and ultimately the climax involving Faison and Nathan’s deaths.

According to spoilers from the Monsters and critics, Thursday's episode will shine the spotlight on "Dante, Sonny, Lulu and Obrecht [as they] deal with the tortured consequences of Faison’s actions".
