Trailer of 'Game of Thrones: The Last Watch', HBO's behind-the-scenes documentary, features emotional last table read
The documentary, titled 'Game of Thrones: The Last Watch' will be helmed by Jeanie Finlay and will premiere May 26, a week after the season finale
Ahead of the release of the eighth season of 'Game of Thrones', the makers had announced that they will air a two-hour documentary titled 'Game of Thrones: The Last Watch' in May. With one more episode to go, the network posted a trailer of the documentary that chronicles the behind-the-scenes of the final season.
According to an official statement by HBO: "The movie delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland. Much more than a 'making of' documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world -- and then have to say goodbye to it."
The trailer opens with an announcement about the last table read and goes on to show set constructions and experiences of the cast and the crew while shooting for the series. "This is a dream job for a director. The show saved my life," says director Miguel Sapochnik at the end of the clip.
The over-a-minute long trailer looks like it will go into details, with the show's creators explaining how they brought an epic conclusion to the show as well as what the experience meant to those part of it. The documentary will be helmed by Jeanie Finlay ('Seahorse', 'Orion: The Man Who Would Be King'). 'The Last Watch' will air May 26 on HBO, one week after the season finale.
