FX's anthology series ‘American Crime Story’ chronicles some of the most notorious crimes and scandals that rocked the nation. After dealing with the trial of O. J. Simpson in the first season and the manhunt of Gianni Versace's murderer Andrew Cunanan in the second, the series will be using the next season to look at the scandalous affair between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky and the impeachment trial that it led to. Lewinsky has agreed to produce the season.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season:

Release Date:

FX told reporters the show will go into production in early 2020. The series will make its debut on September 27, 2020, just in time for the next presidential election.

Where to watch:

The season will air on FX in the United States and Canada. ‘Impeachment’ will also be added to Netflix’s catalog worldwide after it finishes its broadcast.

Plot:

According to John Landgraf, chairman of FX Networks and FX Productions, the third season will “explore the overlooked dimensions of the women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton Presidency.” The season will be taking a close look at the events of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal and will base itself on Jeffrey Toobin’s book ‘A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President.’

The scandal was so huge it has found its way into popular culture and is easily remembered by people around the globe. The show will explain the circumstances of the affair between the 42nd President of the United States and Lewinsky, a former intern and Department of Defense employee, and the events that led to the United States House of Representatives voting to commence impeachment proceedings against Clinton in 1998.
