Girl group fromis_9 to have first comeback with single album 'Talk & Talk' after joining HYBE’s label Pledis Entertainment

While it is understandable that it is difficult for smaller agencies to manage lesser-known K-pop acts, girl groups have the short end of the stick. K-pop fans have noticed that even popular and successful girl groups are mistreated and disbanded quite quickly. In fact, in 2021 itself we saw the likes of IZ*ONE and GFRIEND disband despite them being global stars. And now fans worry for fromis_9 as it was revealed that they were joining HYBE’s label, Pledis Entertainment.

Pledis may have the iconic boy group Seventeen, but they do not have a good history of handling girl groups as seen with the mismanagement of Hello Venus, Pristin and After School. But they just might redeem themselves. After Pledis was acquired by HYBE, fromis_9 is the first girl group that they have recruited. The group was already fading under their last company Stone Music. But Pledis has gained some trust by announcing a comeback for the girls with ‘Talk & Talk’.

Release date and time

fromis_9’s single album ‘Talk & Talk’ with the title track of the same name will be released on September 1 at 6 pm KST (5 am ET).

Concept photos

Pledis also released a set of concept photos of fromis_9 for ‘Talk & Talk’. Titled as a ‘refreshing high-teen’ concept, the girls are dressed in chic vibrant colors and in retro set-ups. They are also seen posing with vintage telephones.

Teasers

Two unique teasers were released that has already raised expectations. In the first meta-teaser, we see Gyuri edit fromis_9’s video and then call Flovers. The second teaser is a continuation as the girls are in different apartments of a doll-like building. We also see a snippet of the chorus and its choreography.

Fans excited to hear fromis_9

Fans are excited for this comeback as they went on to hype and make memes, “So flovers are the owner of the apartment where fromis_9 lives. they declined the call because rent was due.” Another fan added, “fromis_9 have been through so much. Anyone who is new to fromis_9 or you’ve been here since the beginning, lets be kind!
