Fromis_9 to make a long-awaited comeback in September with album and music video, excited fans say 'Finally!'
K-pop girl group Fromis_9 will be making their long-awaited comeback on Monday, September 14. The group will be returning after a hiatus of over a year, following the release of their first single album 'Fun Factory' in June 2019. The album reached number two on the Gaon Album Chart, a first for Fromis_9, but despite their successful run with that release, the group went silent for a long enough period that several members of their fandom, Flover, began suspecting the group had disbanded. The Covid-19 pandemic only furthered suspicions since many smaller labels wound up shutting shop after taking severe financial hits. But Fromis_9 's surprise return has their fans over the moon.
Fromis_9 debuted under Stone Music Entertainment after they were formed by CJ&M via the reality show 'Idol School'. Comprised of nine members, as the name indicates, the group's first release was their 2018 EP, 'To. Heart'. Towards the later part of 2018, it was announced that Fromis_9 would be managed by Stone Music's new label, Off The Record Entertainment, under whom the girls dropped two single albums. As the group was riding the high of their successful 2019 comeback, a scandal broke out around the television channel Mnet engaging in the manipulation of votes across the various reality competition series they produced and broadcast. The investigation specifically looked at two shows, 'Produce 101' and 'Idol School', both of which were designed to allow the general audience to vote as a way to select members for upcoming K-pop groups. Fromis_9 halted activities following this, and not much has been heard from them or their label since.
The latest reports suggest that Fromis_9 is now making a highly-anticipated comeback, with additional reports indicating the group will return with a new album on Monday, September 14, and have already filmed their comeback music video. The news has the group's fans, who have patiently waited for over a year, saying, "Finally!" One fan shared, "LETS GOO! It feels like forever since weโve had them back!!" to which another responded, "That's bc it has, it's been well over a year >: I thought they were gonna disband."

Flovers are rejoicing, seeing as they can finally wake up and support their favorite group. "NO WAY! Finally I can get off the floor," tweeted one fan, "FLOVERSSS WE'RE GETTING UP," said another, and one fan shared, "IT'S BEEN 14 MONTHS FINALLYYY CJWN WEHBVWHIDV TOOO DAMN LONG AND OFF THE RECORD FINALLY HEARD US HELL YES SSSEDW FJWDVHED." During the group's hiatus, their label has been largely implicated as being the ones who failed Fromis_9 and their Flovers. But it appears the company has pulled through since fans are getting exactly what they've been asking for.
