Set in modern-day New Orleans, this animated show is the brainchild of longtime friends James Frey and Eli Roth. Serving as their inaugural venture into animation, 'Fright Krewe' aims to introduce tweens and teens to the horror genre through accessible yet thrilling storytelling.
What happened in 'Fright Krewe: Season 1'?
'Fright Krewe: Season 1' premiered in October 2023, introducing horror-loving teen Soleil Le Claire (Sydney Mikayla). Soleil, a high school student by day and a tour guide for local haunts by night, prefers to keep to herself.
However, when she ends up in detention with her classmates Missy (Grace Lu), Pat (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Stanley (Chester Rushing), and Maybe (Tim Johnson Jr.), they initially struggle to connect.
An unexpected encounter with a resurrected demon, Belial (Jacques Colimon), forces the group to unite and confront the ancient evil. Each teen discovers they possess the powers of their ancestors, granted by the individual loa, or Voodoo spirits.
Throughout the season, they grapple with mastering their newfound abilities and learning to cooperate for a common goal. Just as they begin to find their footing, Belial escalates his attacks, testing the resolve of the Fright Krewe.
What is the plot of 'Fright Krewe: Season 2'?
When horror enthusiast Soleil Le Claire accidentally breaks a spell on the Tree of Life, she unleashes an ancient evil upon New Orleans.
The spirit of Marie Laveau, the voodoo queen, entrusts Soleil and four other children with the task of saving the city from Belial, an ancient demon who thrives on fear. Each child receives a special gift from the voodoo spirits known as Loa to aid in their mission.
Along the way, they uncover a hidden truth: vampires, rougarous, ghosts, monsters, and demons have coexisted with humans in secret for decades.
As the Krewe hones their powers and uncovers Belial's plans, they must also maintain peace among the various supernatural beings while facing off against legendary underworld figures.
The official synopsis reads, "An ancient prophecy and a Voodoo Queen put misfit teens in charge of saving New Orleans from the biggest demonic threat it's faced in almost two centuries. But, honestly? Saving the world might be easier than becoming friends."
