The fan-favorite AMC talk show 'Friday Night In with the Morgans' did not air an episode this week and it's all because of the protests currently raging across the nation. In a video released a few hours ahead of the show's air time, hosts Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton Morgan explained why they have decided to take a break from the show this week.

For those who don't know, AMC's 'Friday Night In with the Morgans' is a beloved talk show where Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton Morgan get together with friends for a freewheeling discussion about life under quarantine.

In the video (which you can watch here), the Morgans reveal that because the episode that was scheduled to air this week was pre-recorded, "it's no longer indicative of the conversations we need to have right now."

"We created this whole show to be a light-hearted distraction from what was going on in the world, with the lockdown orders or quarantine," Hilarie says in the clip.

"And now is not the time for a distraction," Jeffrey adds. "Our country needs our full attention."

"We're supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement in our home," Hilarie continues. "And so we are committed to learning how to be active allies."

While fans may be disappointed that the show has skipped a week, the Morgans do promise a great conversation coming in next week's episode. Jeffrey previewed the upcoming episode saying, "Next week we are fortunate enough to sit down with our AMC family members Yvette Nicole Brown and Colman Domingo for an open and honest discussion."

"We want you guys to stay safe, but stay engaged," Hilarie adds. Both of them also shared a number of posts on their personal Twitter accounts in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. While the episode not airing is a bit of a bummer for fans, they do all seem to support this decision.

"As much as I love my Friday night getaways from COVID, I completely understand and am for you guys not being on tonight," one fan wrote on Twitter. "I can’t wait for next Friday."

"This is why I love @AMC @JDMorgan & @HilarieBurton," another fan tweeted. "They know that there's a time to have fun & a time to be serious. I look forward to next week's #fridaynightinwiththeMorgans to hear from @YNB & #ColemanDomingo."

Yet another fan wrote, "Much much love to @HilarieBurton @JDMorgan ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #fridaynightinwiththeMorgans"

'Friday Night In with the Morgans' airs new episodes Fridays at 10 pm ET on AMC.
