At the end of 'Forest of Secrets 2' aka 'Stranger 2' Episode 7, we saw Yongsan Police Station detectives come across an abandoned car while they are investigating a case and there is even drops of blood outside the car. This throws the detectives off and they try to identify the car, only to learn that it belonged to prosecutor Seo Dong-jae (Lee Joon-hyuk) who had been helping Tae-ha, and Shi-mok (Choi Seung-woo) in preparing for the Council meeting between the prosecutors and the police as they wrestle over power to independently investigate cases.

Captain of the detectives, Choi Yoon-soo, also finds an identity card belonging to Seo Dong-jae in the car. However, the prosecutor is nowhere to be seen. If you recall, Tae-ha had received a call from Dong-jae just that morning when he had hurried to meet a former prosecutor who also happened to be a council member on the committee that would make a decision about the bill regarding police authority when it comes to independent investigations. However, Tae-ha had not taken it.

So where is Dong-jae? The promo also doesn't give any hints regarding who is behind Dong-jae's disappearance. However, what is clear is that the disappearance is a kidnapping. At least according to what Yeo-jin (Bae Doo-na) believes. She also reports the same to Choi Bit. However, our suspicions are related to Choi Bit and Hanjo's current CEO and founder Lee Yeon-jae. When Dong-jae had reconnected with Yeon-jae in this season, one of the things he had asked her about was a case that Choi Bit had buried and somehow Yeon-jae seemed connected to it. This case was one of the cards that Dong-jae had handed over to Tae-ha when the two of them had first met.

He was also investigating this case with the one about the officer who killed himself after being bullied by his colleagues. Both of them are cases that would help the prosecution in a big way when it comes to handing authority over to the cops. So it is highly plausible that Dong-jae had been kidnapped because of these cases. He is currently working as a prosecutor for the Uijeongbu Office and his kidnapping too is connected to the same office. At least that's what Shi-mok believes.

Shi-mok even goes to the extent of interrogating his senior Tae-ha about his association with Dong-jae and when he had last spoken to him or met him. Yeo-jin too is involved in the investigation considering her former team has taken lead on this. So the investigation will take place without being sidelines or obstructed. Will Shi-mok and Yeo-jin open a pandora's box with Dong-jae's case?

'Forest of Secrets 2' aka 'Stranger 2' originally airs on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 pm KST in South Korea and can be streamed on Netflix.
