'For All Mankind' Season 2 Episode 6 sees the US and the Soviet Union space program members try to work on what their respective governments have asked of them. However, things may not go according to plan at all. One of the things that happens the very moment that the Soviet Union arrives in the US is tension.

The Soviet Union space program officials are kept on a short leash and are always watched by their security. Any sign of camaraderie between the Americans and citizens of the Soviet Union will end up resulting in a heavy punishment for the latter and that becomes clear after Margo tries to come to an understanding with the chief of the Soviet Union program regarding their space shuttle placements for the publicity stunt that is set to take place in space.

The stunt is to have an astronaut and a cosmonaut shake hands in space. For this to happen, both their space shuttles would need to dock together and the ends need to come together for the stunt to be successful. However, the Soviet Union space officials are not ready to go with the design and idea that the US has suggested. In fact, they do not agree to any of the suggestions made by the American scientists and they also do not have a counterplan. Instead, they leave the meeting with tension flying everywhere.

Margo (Wrenn Schmidt) is tired already and she wonders if this little assignment from the president can be let go of. After all, she believes that the president might not really remember the handshake on space that he had wanted. It is also interesting to see all of this get underway right when Edward Baldwin (Joel Kinnaman) has equipped astronauts with weapons to "protect" their mining site on the moon from the Soviet Union. Coincidentally, the US site was taken over by the Soviets right after the US had found traces of plutonium on the moon.

The US is also getting ready to equip itself further to deal with any tension on the moon by sending Pathfinder. The one to lead this would be none other than Edward himself. So, there is a lot that NASA has to keep an eye out for, so does Margo. In addition to all this drama, there is Aleida Rosales (Coral Peña) who plays a key role in helping Margo and the Soviet Union official who works secretly to resolve the issues that they faced in the presence of the otherwise watchful eyes of Soviet intelligence.

Aleida getting a job in NASA is a dream that she wanted to achieve but because her boyfriend reached out to Margo in her place, there is a sense of being indebted that she hates. So even as the space program progresses, so will Margo and Aleida's relationship. It is with her help that the Soviets are able to wrap their business up in the US quickly and next, it is the Americans' turn to visit the Soviet Union.

However, what Danielle (Krys Marshall) and her team see when they arrive in the dark of the night is no fanfare or a welcoming band. The scene is very different from the red carpet that they had welcomed the soviets with and this scene is ominous. With Edward and the defense officials having hired astronauts with guns to take care of their site, is Danielle really safe in the foreign land?
